Sanding and Clean Up - Star of David

Today I've pretty much accomplished dropping the depth of the Star of David plate project. This particular project is has been a long time coming. The plate was started in December of 2010 as a gift for my Billy. I got the wood-burning done and he died (1-6-2012) before I could finish it. After three moves, I unpacked the box it was in and decided that I really need to complete the project.

Today is Mother's Day... one year since I moved into the house... Kat woke me with chocolate covered strawberries and a pot of coffee for breakfast. If Billy were here he would have gathered the grandmonsters and made a pancake breakfast for all of us moms... This year he is probably making his pancakes for our moms in heaven...

CoCo likes the rough carved look so I will not smooth down the  inside of the Star

Eden's Earrings... Ummm Minor Repairs

So my precious DD decided that since she is a big sister, she needed to have her ears pierced. There were a few tears, but just a few. She was a wee bit scared and once things got going Eden was just fine. Well, this morning was the day to take off the piercers and put on a brand new pair of skull earrings... (so like her Goodie!) Unfortunately, the front of one of the piercers popped off in the process and you guessed it... my lil Grand Diva was heart-broken. She looks at me and said, "It is okay, Goodie can fix anything." NO PRESSURE THERE!
Freshly pierced ears and a few tears...

Eden really loves these earrings so the first thing I had to do was to remove the piercing point on the back with just the tiniest snip...

Awesome... a reason to use my new wire rounder tool...

All cleaned up and ready for glueing

PROBLEM!! The jewel on the front of the flower will not allow the  earring to sit straight...

SOLUTION!!! Just press the earring head into a styrofoam plate

Apply E6000 and let it set for 24 hours...
